Meals on Wheels Central Coast (One Direct Connect Limited) is a well-established not-for-profit organisation delivering essential meals, wellbeing and support services to older people and vulnerable members of the Central Coast community.
We are seeking suitably qualified and values-aligned individuals to join our Board as Volunteer Directors. This is an opportunity to contribute at a strategic and governance level to an organisation that plays a vital role in supporting older people to live independently and with dignity. We are seeking to appoint more than one Volunteer Director to support planned Board renewal and strengthen our collective skills and experience.
About the role
As a Director, you will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership, sound governance and effective oversight of the organisation. Directors are responsible for ensuring the organisation meets its legal, ethical and regulatory obligations and operates in accordance with the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards and other relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing strategic direction and oversight

Financial and risk governance

Oversight of service quality, safety and continuous improvement

Monitoring organisational performance and sustainability

Supporting strong governance, compliance and ethical decision-making
Skills and experience
We welcome applications from individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Not-for-profit or corporate governance

Accounting, finance or audit

Risk management and compliance
-
Law or legal services
-
Human resources or workforce governance

NDIS, care quality or aged care leadership
-
Strategy, change management or senior executive leadership
Prior board experience is desirable but not essential. A strong commitment to good governance and alignment with the mission and values of Meals on Wheels Central Coast is essential.
Time commitment
The Board meets every two months, with additional participation in sub-committees monthly. Board appointments are voluntary and unpaid; reasonable out-of-pocket expenses may be reimbursed.
