We are the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) - a community-led, not-for-profit organisation that manages and cares for memorial parklands across the Melbourne's North, West and East.
Each year, we help over 12,000 families from diverse backgrounds plan and prepare for funeral, cremation, interment and memorial services. To ensure we continue to serve the needs of our diverse and multicultural communities, we have a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) who meet on a quarterly basis.
We are seeking five passionate new members to join CAC and share their insights, guide GMCT, and influence decisions that impact our memorial parks and cemeteries.
This is a voluntary role that allows you to represent the views of your community at a senior level, influence the decisions and strategies of vital public services, and build an understanding of good governance and committee operations.
Working alongside the CAC Chair and approximately 9 other community members, you will provide valuable insights and guidance to our organisation that ensures our parks and services reflect and respect the rich diversity of Melbourne's communities.
The committee meets quarterly, in February, May, August and November for up to 2.5 hours, and are also provided pre-read material.
