    Forsight is seeking to appoint one non-executive director to its Board with skills and experience that include:

    • people with lived experience of disability;
    • experience or training in advocacy, rights-based approaches, or NDIS Practice Standards;
    • experience in strategic communications and marketing, fundraising, public relations, branding, stakeholder and community engagement; and
    • has a sound understanding of client experience through direct involvement, consultation, or advocacy within disability or community sectors.

    The Board is seeking a range of ages represented to balance generational perspectives; representation across metropolitan and regional communities; and the inclusion of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) backgrounds.

    Other requirements include:

    • Personal commitment to Forsight's purpose and values.
    • Sound financial and governance knowledge and experience.
    • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
    • Personal integrity.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience.

    Desirable skills and experience sought includes:

    • Organisational management and leadership experience
    • Organisational governance or Board experience
    • Graduate AICD or GIA membership, and/or similar qualifications
    • In its role, the Board currently meets six times per year at Silverwater on Wednesdays. An anticipated time commitment of at least one day a month is required which includes preparation for and attendance at Board and Committee meetings. 
    • Directors may also be expected to be a member of one of three Board committees that may meet in the month prior to Board meetings. These committees are: Governance; Finance, Audit and Risk; and Clinical Care Governance and Quality committee.
    • Our directors are asked to complete a Board survey every year which informs the board goals for the next year, ensuring that Director’s needs and those of the organisation are monitored and met.

    The preferred individuals will be those who can demonstrate the ability to make an active contribution to the Board, to meet skills gaps, to think laterally and strategically, and to contribute effectively to Board discussion and decision making.
