Expertise required to guide the development of a CHP business model & establishment plan.

For more than 40 years, this organisation has worked alongside individuals, families and communities on the southside of Brisbane, providing practical support across youth and family services, housing and homelessness.

In response to the escalating housing crisis, the organisation is assessing how it can responsibly increase local access to safe, affordable housing as a potential Community Housing Provider (CHP).

A specialist Advisory Committee is being formed to oversee, guide and provide strategic advice on the planning, modelling and preparatory work required to assess registration readiness, providing knowledge, advice and informed recommendations to the Board. Several positions are available to qualified people in Australia. These are honorary roles for independent committee members with special expertise.

Collectively, this will be an informed and influential Committee that provides thoughtful stewardship and strategic guidance.

To support sound decision‑making, the Committee will draw on a range of expertise across community housing and property development. The task is complex, requiring insight across design, planning, investment, financial and asset management, governance, strategy and risk.

So, in addition, to specific project-based expertise, corporate management skills across partnerships, procurement, First Nations and multicultural perspectives, tenant advocacy and communications will also be keenly welcomed.

While no individual is expected to embody every requirement, your enthusiasm and expertise in key areas could meaningfully shape what comes next.

This is an opportunity to contribute to practical solutions to a critical community need and help shape sustainable housing outcomes over time.

Some combination of experience across community/social housing, property development, project financing, capital structuring and financial/legal/regulatory issues is necessary. But it’s really important that beyond professional expertise, members bring sound judgement, integrity and a commitment to fair and practical housing outcomes.

If you live your values, always act with integrity, respect, confidentiality, and believe you have the necessary skills, this voluntary role offers a powerful sense of purpose and accomplishment.

For experienced professionals, this role offers a meaningful way to apply expertise to an issue of long‑term community importance. And a rare chance to vastly improve the lives of vulnerable individuals and their families.
