Any further information about this vacancy:

We are seeking a director who brings a well-rounded skill set and experience that will complement and strengthen the skills and knowledge base of existing Directors, ideally with experience in the not-for-profit / for-purpose sector.

Experience in corporate governance will be viewed favourably, along with sound commercial awareness and a practical approach to supporting organisational growth and sustainability. Experience in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector would be highly regarded, as would experience in project management and/or property development.

The role will suit an individual who has demonstrated knowledge and experience in organisational development and improvement, with the ability to contribute to planning, risk management and effective oversight of resources. Experience delivering projects (including capital works or property-related projects) and building productive networks and partnerships will be an advantage.

As a Director of the Board you will assist in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction, future success and long-term sustainability.

This is a voluntary role, without remuneration.

Working with the CEO and the Board, you will:

  • Contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction, including opportunities for growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide oversight and constructive challenge on key organisational initiatives, including major projects, change activities and (where relevant) property or capital works matters.

 What you will bring

  • You must be qualified to hold the position of director under the Corporations Act 2001.
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate governance and statutory compliance requirements, with experience in the not-for-profit / for-purpose sector preferred (ideally within early childhood education and care (ECEC)).
  • Critical and strategic thinking and effective decision-making.
  • A well-rounded mix of skills and experience that supports strong governance, sound commercial judgement and effective oversight of organisational performance and risk. Experience in project management and/or property development is desirable.
  • The ability to assimilate and synthesise complex information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A collaborative and positive attitude to our team.
  • A commitment to Adventure Patch’s values.

Please detail any leadership, governance and/or board experience and your motivation for applying to Adventure Patch.
