What you’ll gain • Mentorship, support and advice from other Committee Members and a practical Treasurer/governance toolkit (templates, checklists). • Board exposure (Committee & Council), a reference, and LinkedIn recognition. • The chance to lead strategic improvements (e.g., digitised filing, simple dashboards, other projects). About NCWV (in brief) NCWV is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation uniting women and allies across Victoria to empower women and girls. We: • Advocate on state issues and help shape policy and submissions to government. • Champion rights to safety, education, and equal pay—with zero tolerance for violence and discrimination. • Connect members locally, nationally, and globally through the International Council of Women (ICW), which has consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC). • Collaborate with professionals, policymakers, and the community so insights become real action. The Treasurer — What you do • Manage NCWV costs and payments: maintain timely payments with appropriate approvals; maintain visibility on cash flow. • Produce monthly reporting: prepare a short monthly finance summary and the annual Treasurer’s Report. • Attend monthly meetings: attend the monthly Committee (3rd Thu 10:00– 12:00) and, where possible, the monthly Council (1st Thu 12:15–14:30). You can attend via zoom or in person, though in person attendance is preferable to online attendance. • Manage income, donations, and member records: record all donations; reconcile and update paid-member records; provide up-to-date organisational and individual member lists to committees. • Liaise internally and externally: externally, liaise with the bank and ATO on financial and compliance matters; internally, communicate with executive team members on finance matters and keep records orderly. Tools & support • Software: Westpac online banking, spreadsheets (or accounting software if applicable), cloud drive. • Templates provided: current Excel spreadsheet, monthly summary one-pager, AGM pack.
