New position, as an animal rescue we have an inhouse veterinary clinic and we are providing veterinary support to Palm Island to assist with management of cats and dogs on the island.
The organisation is looking for an experienced vet to provide advice to the committee on animal welfare and ensure we have best practice for our operations and vet clinic, provide oversight of procedures and processes and where there encumbent vets may not agree on treatment.
There is an option in the future to open the clinic to the public to potentially assist with cheaper vet care for those that are struggling (ie homeless, domestic violence, low income), therefore providing advice as to the viability of this as a service and for the strategic planning for the organisation going forward.
