Remote Australians Matter is seeking two new Board Directors to join our growing organisation and help drive meaningful change for people living in remote and very remote communities across Australia.

We are a passionate, purpose-driven organisation advocating for equitable access, stronger policy outcomes, and better health services for remote Australians. As we continue to expand our impact, we are looking for individuals who are committed, reliable, and ready to contribute to governance and strategic direction. Sharing a passion for improved healthcare across remote Australia

About the RoleThis is a volunteer Board Director position. While the role is unpaid, approved expenses for events and official duties will be covered.

We welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds, including those who may be new to board roles and are keen to build their governance experience.

Ideal (but not essential) criteria:

  • Capacity and availability to actively contribute (e.g. retirees, stay-at-home parents, or those with flexible time)
  • Based in Western Australia, South Australia, or Tasmania would be great as we would like to see National representation
  • Lived experience in remote or very remote communities
  • Interest or experience in policy, governance, or internal compliance

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for remote Australians
  • Willingness to contribute time, ideas, and energy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a board environment
  • Integrity and a strong sense of accountability

We are particularly keen to ensure our Board reflects the diversity and lived experiences of the communities we serve.
