Volunteer Board Member — Marketing and Communications

Providing All Living Supports (PALS) Inc | Remote | Closes 22 May 2026

Are you a marketing or communications professional looking to put your skills to work at a governance level — for an organisation doing genuinely important work?

PALS (Providing All Living Supports) is an NDIS-registered, not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with disability across the Moira Shire in regional Victoria. We deliver Supported Independent Living, Community Access and Support Coordination services, and operate three Social Enterprises. Our work is grounded in a simple belief: that a fully inclusive community is possible, and that everyone deserves to reach their potential.

We have a vacancy on our volunteer Board for an experienced marketing and communications professional — someone who can help us sharpen our voice, strengthen our brand and grow our community presence.

THE ROLE

As a Board Member, you will contribute strategic marketing and communications thinking at a governance level, working alongside a committed and collaborative Board and experienced CEO.

This is not an operational role. We are looking for someone who can think strategically about how PALS presents itself, builds trust with its community and communicates its impact — and who can bring that perspective to the Board table.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Mid-to-senior level experience in marketing, brand, communications or PR
  • The ability to think strategically about audience, message and reputation
  • Confidence contributing to governance discussions beyond your specialist area
  • Clear, practical communication skills
  • A genuine commitment to disability inclusion and community impact

Previous board or governance experience is valued. We also warmly welcome applications from people with lived experience of disability, carers, family members and candidates from diverse backgrounds.

WHAT YOU WILL GET

This is a two-way relationship. In joining the PALS Board, you will:

  • Be part of a supportive, engaged and collegial Board that genuinely values what each member brings
  • Build and deepen your governance experience at board level — valuable professional development whether you are stepping into your first directorship or adding to an established portfolio
  • Access ongoing learning and development opportunities relevant to board practice, including sector insights and governance training
  • Contribute to work that makes a real and tangible difference in the lives of people living with disability in regional Victoria — and feel genuinely good about it

THE COMMITMENT

This is a volunteer, non-executive position. The Board meets monthly via MS Teams, with occasional subcommittee meetings and one face-to-face strategic planning day in Yarrawonga each year. Time commitment is approximately 4–6 hours per month. The role is fully remote and open to applicants anywhere in Australia.

HOW TO APPLY

Send a short expression of interest (1–2 pages) addressing the requirements above, with a current CV, to Company Secretary Edna Coetzee at edna.coetzee@palsinc.org.au by the 29th May 2026.
