Seeking Board Directors

Sexual Health Victoria (SHV) is the leading, for purpose, state-wide provider of sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, we have been providing services in Victoria for over 55 years. Our focus is the provision of a range of services that are accessible, culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs of the diverse Victorian community. These services include clinical care as well as education and training to help build the capacity of educators and health care professionals working in the sexual and reproductive health sector, as well as advocacy and research.

With a stable and committed Board, we are seeking interest from people with expertise and skills in one or more of the following disciplines: Clinical practice, and /or clinical governance; Education; Legal; Strategic partnerships; experience and interest in chairing a Board.

Individuals who will help to enhance the diversity of the Board to better reflect the community and the priority populations we support are warmly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity as well as being:

Fully supportive of the purpose and activities of SHVCommitted to contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the organisation

  • Able to fulfil fiduciary duties
  • Future oriented, with a sustainable for purpose vision and foresight
  • Able to provide wise, thoughtful counsel on a broad range of issues, and
  • Demonstrate financial literacy.
  • Board members are appointed for a 3-year term with re-election for a maximum of 3 terms. Board meetings are held quarterly, and all Directors are expected to participate in at least one Committee.
