Board Secretary (Volunteer) — EDQ is seeking a legally qualified volunteer to join our Board as Secretary. As a state-wide service with offices in Cairns and Brisbane, we welcome applicants from anywhere in Queensland.In this role, you will work closely with the CEO and Board Chair to uphold strong governance practices, ensuring the Board operates in line with its constitution, regulatory obligations, and best-practice standards.Key responsibilities • Support the CEO and Chair on all matters of board governance, including meeting coordination and overseeing the AGM • Review legal aspects of organisational and Board activity • Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and reporting requirements • Contribute legal opnion to Board discussions and decision-making - About you • Qualified legal practitioner (current or recent) • Understanding of not-for-profit governance and director duties • Sound judgement, discretion, and a collaborative approach • Located anywhere in Queensland — meetings can be attended remotely. This is an unpaid, voluntary position offering a meaningful opportunity to support a vital state-wide service.
