The opportunity
Noah’s Ark is seeking three new Board members to strengthen our governance capability and ensure our decisions reflect the diverse children and families we support.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one of the following areas:
- Parent or carer of a child with a disability, ideally with lived experience of Noah’s Ark services.
- Cyber, AI or digital expertise, including AI‑enabled innovation, cyber security, data, or technology risk at a governance level, with a strong interest in how emerging technologies can improve outcomes in healthcare, disability or community services.
- Early childhood intervention or disability sector leadership, including allied health, child development, service delivery, policy, or research.
For the cyber / AI vacancy, we are particularly interested in candidates who bring curiosity, thought leadership and an innovation mindset, rather than purely technical or compliance‑focused experience.
Applicants do not need to meet all areas — we are seeking different strengths across the three vacancies.
Why join our Board?
- Make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families.
- Contribute to strategic decision‑making in a purpose‑driven organisation.
- Use your experience at a governance and strategic level (not operational delivery).
- Be part of a respectful, inclusive and supportive Board culture.
Prior board experience is welcome but not required. We encourage applications from first‑time directors and people from diverse backgrounds. The Board values informed challenge and innovation within a strong governance and risk framework.
About the role
As a Board member, you will contribute to:
- Strategic direction and long‑term sustainability.
- Exploring how innovation, digital capability and emerging technologies (including AI) can ethically and safely enhance services and impact.
- Strong governance, compliance and risk oversight.
- Constructive support and challenge to the CEO.
- Bringing lived experience, sector knowledge or professional expertise to Board discussions.
This is a non‑executive role focused on governance and oversight.
Commitment and support
Board members attend monthly meetings, an annual planning day and AGM, and may join a Board committee. The commitment is approximately 6–8 hours per month. All Board members receive a structured induction and ongoing governance support.
