Pathways and Advocacy Network (PAAN) is seeking a passionate, values-driven individual to join our Board as Treasurer.

PAAN is a South Australian not-for-profit organisation established in 2025, committed to improving school retention through traditional and alternative pathways, strengthening career pathways, and improving life outcomes for young people, particularly those facing disadvantage or disability. Through advocacy, community partnerships and systems reform, we work to create an inclusive future where every young person has a pathway to thrive.

Board Director: Treasurer

We are seeking a Treasurer with strong financial literacy and a commitment to good governance. The ideal candidate may have experience in financial management, budgeting and reporting - ideally within a not-for-profit, education, training, community or advocacy setting.

As an emerging organisation with currently modest operating costs and financial activity, the Treasurer responsibilities are presently relatively light. This role may particularly suit someone looking to contribute their skills to a growing purpose-driven organisation while helping shape its future direction.

Alongside core Treasurer responsibilities, we would strongly welcome applicants who can also contribute experience in areas such as:

  • Business development
  • Tender or grant writing
  • Partnership development
  • Sponsorship or fundraising initiatives

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the education, training, youth, employment, or community sectors.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee financial compliance and reporting obligations
  • Support the preparation of budgets, financial statements and board-ready reports
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support organisational growth and sustainability
  • Contribute to broader organisational development and funding opportunities where appropriate

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Understanding of NFP compliance obligations (ACNC, DGR etc.) or willingness to learn
  • Experience in fundraising, grants, tenders, partnerships, or business development (desirable)
  • Interest in education, training, employment, youth, disability, or advocacy sectors

PAAN strongly encourages applications from people with disability, First Nations peoples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

If you’re interested in joining a mission-led, reform-focused organisation working at the intersection of education, disability, inclusion, and diverse pathways to student success, we would love to hear from you.
