MWFF seeks expressions of interest for joining the festival Board as Company Secretary. The Company Secretary role is integral in driving the board agenda and supporting the organisation’s governance and compliance as a registered charity.

As Company Secretary, your role would include:

  • Attending every board meeting (6 - 7 annually)
  • Developing strategic board agendas in line with the Festival’s year-round milestones and taking board minutes
  • Supporting organisational governance and compliance, including ensuring information on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission is up to date
  • Developing strong knowledge of the Festival’s constitution to support board processes
  • Assisting with planning and strategy days 
  • Supporting the board review process and induction of new board members
  • Supporting CEO / Festival Director with Annual General Meeting planning

The skills you will have include:

  • Not-for-profit and charity experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrated organisation and coordination skills
  • Fluency in using Microsoft Word and Google Drive

Next Steps

29th June to 10th July: Applications will be reviewed

13th July to 22nd July: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to meet with current board members in-person or online to talk through their reasons for wanting to join the board and to learn more about the organisation. 

24th July: All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome. The successful applicant will begin onboarding the following week.
