Botanic Gardens of Sydney, the registered business name of the Trust, is the custodian of more than $1.2 billion in state-significant cultural, heritage and scientific assets, encompassing Australia’s premier botanical research institute, Sydney’s leading outdoor entertainment and activation precinct, and three world-leading botanic gardens:

  • Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
  • The Domain
  • Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan

What You’ll Do

As a Trust Board Member, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Stewarding iconic public lands and world-renowned gardens for future generations
  • Championing scientific excellence by helping to expand and share knowledge about Australian plant life through research, education, and outreach
  • Promoting public access to Trust lands by increasing their educational, historical, cultural and recreational value
  • Shaping the strategic direction of one of Australia’s most influential cultural institutions to respond to emerging environmental and community needs

Positions Available

There are 4 vacancies; 1 x Trust Board Chair and 3 x Trust Board Members, which includes one member position on the Trust’s Audit and Risk Committee and one member position on the Australian Institute of Botanical Science Advisory Council.

Who We’re Looking For

The Trust is looking for highly motivated, influential, and passionate individuals interested in becoming new Board Members. We are seeking individuals with strong capabilities in one or more of the following areas; environment, sustainability and plant conservation, legal, financial and commercial, policy and government relations, education, and technology, innovation and cyber security.
