Milparinka Disability Services has a reputation for providing creative and customised services for people with intellectual disability, like our individualised living arrangements. We are committed to providing services that meet the evolving needs and expectations of people with intellectual disability including living in their own homes, finding paid work, building relationships, getting involved in their communities, improving their health and fitness, and directing their own supports.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Committee of Management is looking for directors with:

  • A deep commitment to the rights of people with intellectual disability and families to be involved in community life and to have lives like other community members
  • Financial expertise, particularly related to NDIS service provision
  • NDIS knowledge – professional and/or personal.

AS A MILPARINKA BOARD DIRECTOR, YOU WILL…

  • Shape the strategic direction of the organisation
  • Provide sound governance and financial oversight
  • Read board papers carefully, contribute to robust and respectful discussions, and be responsive to communication between meetings when required
  • Attend approximately 10 board meetings per year in Brunswick and online
  • Represent the organisation to participants, families and stakeholders

BOARD MEETINGS

The Milparinka Committee of Management meet monthly on a Monday evening in Brunswick. Members can also join online.
