Join the Árpád Aged Care Committee and Help Shape Our Future

Do you have a passion for supporting older people and preserving the cultural legacy of the Hungarian community in Melbourne?

The Árpád Elderly Welfare Society Inc., which governs the Árpád Aged Care facility in Wantirna, Victoria, is seeking expressions of interest from individuals to join its Committee in a volunteer capacity.

We welcome applicants from a variety of professional backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Aged Care and Community Services
  • Finance and Investment
  • Legal and Governance
  • Human Resources and Workforce Development
  • Marketing and Communications
  • IT and Cybersecurity
  • Building and Construction
  • Direct expertise in clinical care, preferably aged care

Those with previous governance experience wishing to seek a more challenging responsible officer role are also invited to express an interest.

Additional Skills and Desirable Attributes:

Applicants with knowledge of governance principles such as those taught in the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course (CDC) will be highly regarded.

Experience in the aged care sector and familiarity with the Aged Care Act 2024 and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards is also desirable, given the regulated environment in which we operate.

Furthermore, a connection to Hungarian heritage, culture, or the Hungarian community is valued, as Árpád Aged Care is dedicated to preserving and celebrating this cultural legacy for our residents and their families.

Those new to governance are encouraged to apply. We offer professional development opportunities including online learning, in-person sessions, coaching, and mentoring for those who commit to joining the Committee.
