- Experienced P&C Leader with strong understanding of recovery-oriented, community mental health services
- Deep expertise in human services, health or clinical delivery sectors in a for-purpose environment

Help shape the Board’s oversight of workforce strategies, wellbeing, reporting and organisational culture.
For five decades, this respected community mental health and wellbeing organisation has worked alongside individuals, families and communities to provide recovery-oriented, person-centred support for people facing mental health challenges. As part of the organisation’s strategic direction, the Board is investing in workforce development and leadership, with a strong focus on employee wellbeing and continuously striving to be an employer of choice.
Its multi-skilled Board has an outstanding record of achieving meaningful outcomes.
Well established and purpose led, it adheres to clear values that are lived daily throughout an organisation where nearly 450 employees support approximately 12,000 clients annually.
As part of its on-going self-assessment, the Board has embarked on a significant renewal program. The intention is to strengthen its governance capability and broaden an already excellent reputation as a leader in recovery-oriented mental health, wellbeing and community-based support.
The plans are in place: what’s needed now is a Director who can strengthen the Board’s oversight of people, culture and workforce matters and shape the enrichment of the values-led culture.
As a subject matter expert across all aspects of People and Culture, you should also bring experience and/or a good contemporary understanding of mental health, homelessness, healthcare, disability, addictions OR other inter-connected community/health services.
It’s expected you can offer strong strategic thinking, leadership, organisational development, employee wellbeing, psychosocial risk management, sound emotional intelligence, and a clear grasp of governance.
Ideally, you will bring some Board Director experience and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering strong, productive relationships between the Board and management as the organisation continues to grow.
A mature attitude and approach, sound judgement, the ability to listen actively and a determination to always find the best way forward, will enhance your application.
Deep respect for lived experience, peer workforce development and the diverse workforce that delivers recovery-oriented, person-centred support is a feature of your leadership practice.
If you believe you have the right skills, attributes, experience and values to succeed in this role, we look forward to hearing your story.
