About Connected Health Alliance
Connected Health Alliance is an ACNC-registered charity and not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving health outcomes for people living with heritable connective tissue disorders, including HSD (Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder) and EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes).
Our activities include:
- Interdisciplinary clinic - we operate an allied health and medical clinic in Woolongong, for people living with heritable connective tissue disorders. We have a team of around ten clinicians at present who are passionate about this area, and dedicated to developing in a new model of care. Earlier this year, we moved into our fit-for-purpose built in collaborating with the University of Wollongong Innovation Campus. We are currently growing our clinical team to help meet demand and reduce waitlist times, while also putting stronger practice management processes in place as we move out of the start-up phase and towards a more sustainable practice.
- Clinician education - we understand that teaching and supporting clinicians is vital to improving the patient experience of healthcare when living with a heritable connective tissue disorder. Our initial clinician education webinar held last year attracted over 200 enrolments, and our live clinician education program is set to run later this year.
- Research - we are actively involved in research in the niche we work in. We aim to contribute to the currently limited research base; driving more appropriate management, service access, and health outcomes.
Our current board team consists of healthcare clinicians who all have lived experience of heritable connective tissue disorders.
