Behaviour Support Practitioners Australia (BSPA) is the national not-for-profit peak body for behaviour support practitioners working within the NDIS and broader disability sector. We support and represent practitioners across Australia and promote high-quality, ethical and evidence-informed behaviour support practice.
BSPA is seeking a suitably experienced person to serve as Treasurer on its volunteer Board of Directors. This is an unpaid governance position carrying the same legal, fiduciary and ethical responsibilities as other BSPA Directors, alongside specific responsibility for financial oversight.
The Treasurer works collaboratively with the Board, Executive Officer, bookkeeper and accountant to oversee BSPA’s finances, lead annual budgeting, present financial reports, monitor financial performance and risk, and support compliance with ACNC and ATO requirements.
The overall time commitment is approximately 3–4 hours per week, including preparation for and attendance at Executive and Board meetings, general Board participation, and Treasurer-specific financial oversight and reporting. Additional time may be required during annual budgeting, financial reporting, audit or review periods, and in preparation for the AGM. Meetings are primarily held remotely, with occasional in-person participation.
Applicants should have sound financial literacy and experience in financial management, bookkeeping or accounting, together with the ability to explain financial information clearly to Board members without finance backgrounds. Experience in not-for-profit finance and governance, accounting systems or a previous Board or committee Treasurer role would be highly regarded.
Once you have filled in the following form, your details will be emailed directly to Behaviour Support Practitioners Australia (BSPA).
