Our Community Programs

Prospect Community Services is here to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, strengthen connections, and thrive within our community.

Emergency Relief Program

When unexpected hardship strikes, eligible individuals and families can access financial or material assistance through our Emergency Relief Program. This support is made possible through the generosity of local businesses and church groups.

Financial Resilience Program

Take control of your financial future with one-on-one guidance in budgeting, financial management, and debt reduction. Our Financial Resilience Officer can also help community members access the No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS).

Family Support Program

Our Family Support Program provides practical support to vulnerable families with dependent children aged 18 and under. We assist families experiencing wellbeing concerns, including risks to physical or mental health and involvement with Child Safety. A school bus service is also available when families are unable to transport their children to school.

Youth Support Team

Young people can access support to strengthen relationships with their families and wider support networks, helping them build positive connections and greater resilience.

Domestic and Family Violence Program

We provide a range of services for people experiencing domestic and family violence, including Court Support, Mobile Outreach Services, and Temporary Support Accommodation through Willow Rising.

Our Court Support Services provide informed support to people attending the Charters Towers and Hughenden Magistrates Courts for domestic and family violence matters.

Our Mobile Outreach Program helps women in Charters Towers, Hughenden, and surrounding communities access accommodation and support services when they are experiencing violence at home or within their family.

Willow Rising provides safe, suitable temporary accommodation for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

Disability and Mental Health Program

Our Disability and Mental Health Program supports:

  • People with disability who have a NDIS plan
  • Carers of people with disability
  • People experiencing disability or mental health issues who need support or respite through alternative funding or fee-for-service arrangements
  • People aged 7 to 65 years

Supports Coordination

Our Supports Coordination service helps participants understand and put their funded Plan supports into action. We also connect participants with community, mainstream, and government services that can support their goals.

Community Housing Program

Everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. Our Community Housing Program provides flexible, long-term housing for low-income individuals and families.

Prospect currently manages 36 properties, including one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units and houses, as well as a fully accessible four-bedroom home.

Breakfast Program and Soup Kitchen
