The Catering Maitland Board provides oversight and guidance to the management team running ten and counting school canteens in the Lower Hunter region, NSW. The service has operated for ten years. The company is a PBI with DGR and other tax concessions. The Board are volunteers, and staff are all in paid positions. The aim of the company is twofold: to ensure that no child goes to school hungry, and to provide meaningful employment to local people.
The Lower Hunter we serve incorporates five LGAs, including Newcastle. Port Stephens. Lake Mac. Cessnock and Maitland.
The Board member we are seeking will understand the board responsibilities of an ACNC charity and embrace the activities of this social enterprise, our aims and values.
Catering Maitland is much more than a school canteen company.
