Kiteboarding Australia is seeking expressions of interest from people interested in contributing to the KA Board as we transition to our new national governance structure. We are particularly keen to hear from women interested in bringing their skills, experience and perspective to the leadership of kiteboarding and wing in Australia. We welcome people with experience in governance, commercial, participation, marketing, legal, finance, high performance or community sport. As a Director of Kiteboarding Australia, you’ll be expected to demonstrate the experience required to contribute to sound governance practices, including a basic comfort with finance, budgeting, and the legal responsibilities of a company director. Beyond this, our Board values diverse perspectives and specialist skills.

While we welcome a wide range of professional backgrounds, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following priority and specialist areas:

• Finance and Accounting, including grant management and NFP funding (Priority)

• Membership and Community Engagement

• Marketing and Sales

• Legal, Regulatory and Insurance

• Innovation, New Development Areas and Entrepreneurship

This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to further enrich their career as an elected board member of Kiteboarding Australia Limited. Knowledge of Kiteboarding and/or Winging as a sport will be strongly advantageous to your role, although it is not essential. We have strong operational experience on the board and in our General Manager. The requirement is for new directors to bring strong strategic and entrepreneurial talents which will help us grow participation and engagement. You will be an individual that will act in the best interests of the organisation, sport and community. Commitment to the organisations strategic direction is a must. Board members should be willing to commit themselves and their time to ensuring the success of the organisation. You will be prepared to attend general board meetings that occur 8 times per year (remote access is viable), the Annual General Meeting and actively participate in committees to help the development of the organisation. At KA, we embrace differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, religion and sexual orientation. All successful applicants will be expected to uphold the values and responsibilities outlined in the National Integrity Framework, as adopted by Kiteboarding Australia. This includes a commitment to safe, fair, and inclusive sport, and a willingness to undertake relevant integrity and governance training as needed. Whether you're an experienced director or new to board roles, if you're passionate about contributing to the future of kiteboarding and wing foiling in Australia, we encourage you to apply.
