The core activity of Bamboo Micro Credit is the raising of funds in Western Australia to be used to provide interest-free loans to people in poverty in Indonesia so they can develop small businesses to alleviate their poverty. We partner with organisations in Indonesia who select and support the borrowers. We are looking for persons who have an interest in Indonesia and Australia-Indonesia relations. Board members have a hands on role with the running of the organisation as well as involvement in strategic and operational decision-making. They would ideally need to be living in Western Australia (or living in Indonesia and regularly travelling to Perth) so they could attend some of the Board meetings in person. 

This is a great opportunity to be involved not only in voluntary work in Australia, but also foreign aid and community development in a small organisation.
