RIAC (Rights Information Advocacy Centre)

 

Rights Information and Advocacy Centre (RIAC) is a not-for-profit organisation that builds the capacity and wellbeing of individuals, families, carers and communities through advocacy and support services. This includes people with disabilities, Indigenouse Australians and the elderly.

Position description

The RIAC board is looking to fill 4 vacancies. 1 to serve in the role of Treasurer and 3 as general board members.

 

Key Requirements

 

Treasurer

  • The role of the treasurer is to liaise with the RIAC accounting firm to review the monthly financials and to sign off on the financial reports.
  • Finance background with CA or CPA qualifications

General Board Member

  • Strategic thinking and a professional approach
  • Fundraising experience
  • Highly ethical and committed
  • Legal or HR background
  • Candidates who are a carer or a family member with a disability
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Straits Islander background

The RIAC Board of Directors have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify Vision and Mission for the organisation
  • Develop organisational goals
  • Plan strategies and risk management
  • Promote the organisation and lead the organisation towards achieving its goals
  • Have a clear and thorough understanding of the organisation’s programs

 

The Board meets on a monthly basis either at the Shepparton office or via Skype.
