Grant Program Primer
How to design a Grant Program that works
You?re starting a new grants program or you are new to grantmaking; you don?t have much time; there are so many things to think about; the job seems overwhelming ... where do you start?
This is where the Grant Program Primer workshop can help.
This practical two-day program will take you through the AIGM?s Grantmaking Toolkit. As part of a small group of about 15-18 grants program managers, you will learn how to use the policy templates provided in the Toolkit to set up and run a new grants program.
Discussions and small group work will also provide participants with the opportunity to share practical tips, approaches and ideas with other program managers.
At the end of the two days you will take home:
- A well-developed set of program documents;
- A list of things you need to do to get your program off the ground;
- The skills to complete any outstanding documentation when you return to your workplace; and
- The knowledge to argue for the documents you have developed.
The Grant Program Primer workshop is suitable for program managers who are developing grant program documentation from scratch or those who are just starting out.
