Established in 1984, Primary Care Connect (PCC) is a stand alone registered Community Health Service, provding a range of health and community services. PCC has a range of services with universal access principles but targeting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable populations in our communties. 

We provide Alcohol adn Drug Services, Refugee Services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services, Problem Gambling Services, Financial Counselling, Family Violence Services for Women and Men, Allied Health, Health and Wellbing programs, Parenting Education, Needle Syringe Program, Pharmacotherapy support programs, Health Promotion and Farmer Health programs. 

We are particularly intersted in recruiting experienced Board Directors who have completed the Australian Insititute Company Directors Course or 5 years Governance experience, with specific skills and experience in the areas of Clinical Governance, Legal or Financial. We would highly value Board Directors from diverse backgrounds, particularly from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities or people with a Disability. 

All PCC Board Memebers are required to: 

  • Think Strategically to support the position, sustainability adn efficacy of PCC 
  • Understand the legal obligations of hte Board and their fiduciary duties 
  • Have an ability to read and comprehend the organsiations accounts and financial reports 
  • Be able to identify risks and provide advice on risk management strategies relevant to NFP context

The Board is the legal entity for the organisation adn Board memebers represent the interests of the organisations stakeholders including service users, staff, donors, philanthropic bodies and government. The Board is entrsuted to ensure that the organisation is soundly managed for the benefit of all. 

PCC Board meets monthly for two hours in Shepparton and participation is expected in relevant sub-committees which meet quarterly. Other committment requirements include but not limited to, planning days, reading and events throughout the year.

Board memebers are expected to:

  • Understand the issues of Health and Wellbeing in the context of the social model of health
  • Act in alignment with PCC's vision, mission and values 
  • Attend and actively participate in the work of the Board and its sub-committees 
  • Refarin from publicaly expressing opinions that are at odds with the stated aims, objectives and values of PCC 
  • Maintain confidentiality about sensitive issues 
  • Be familiar with PCC and the wider environment in which it operates 
  • Follow the PCC Barod Code of Conduct and Charter 
  • Declare any conflicts of interest and particiapte in the Board independent of affliation with any other association 
  • Not speak publicly on behalf of PCC or the Board without express prior permission
