Our Community has been recognised as one of the best companies in the world for creating positive community impact at an awards ceremony in California, USA, today.

The organisation has been included in the Best for Community list, which identifies businesses that earned a Community score in the top 10% of more than 1800 Certified B Corporations on the B Impact Assessment.

The full B Impact Assessment measures a company's impact on its workers, community, customers and the environment, while the Community portion of the B Impact Assessment evaluates a company's supplier relations, diversity, and involvement in the local community. It also measures the company's practices and policies around community service and charitable giving, including whether a company's product or service is designed to solve a social issue, such as access to basic services, health, education, economic opportunity and the arts.

Our Community is among 141 companies named Best in World in the Community category. Honourees come from 18 industries and 24 countries.

As well as honouring the Best for the World in Community, B the Change Media also released lists recognising B Corporations as Best for the World (overall impact), Best for the Environment, Best for Customers and Best for Workers.

Our Community founder and Group Managing Director Denis Moriarty said he was honoured that the company's contribution to community had been recognised.

"We've worked very hard over the past 16 years to provide value to the community, to our partners and customers, to our own workforce, and to keep in mind our environmental sustainability obligations as well," he said.

B the Change Media says honourees scoring in the top 10% set a gold standard for the high impact that business as a force for good can make on communities around the world.
