FREE Webinars

Free Child Safety Information Webinars will be delivered in a series of two sessions (the first an introductory Webinar, the second an advanced session) at the following dates and times:

Option 1: Daytime Webinar series
Introductory session will run 13 December 2016 12 noon to 1pm AEDT
Advanced session will run 15 December 2016 12 noon to 1pm AEDT

Option 2: Evening Webinar series
Introductory session will run 12 December 2016 6pm to 7pm AEDT
Advanced session will run 14 December 2016 6pm to 7pm AEDT

Are you on a board or committee of a community organisation that is focussed on children?

Do you know that from January 1 2017, new legislation applies to all organisations in Victoria working with children?

This includes:

Sport clubs
Support services
Neighbourhood/community houses
Youth groups
Playgroups, toy libraries,
Pre-schools

Child safety requires a whole of organisation commitment to, and responsibility for, the protection of children and a visible child safe culture. Your board is responsible for leading this culture. A free two hour workshop is being held locally that will help support you become aware of what you need to do:

Why we need Child Safe Standards
The new legislation and your legal obligations
What you need to do before January 1 2017.
Practical tips to ensure compliance for your organisation and board members
Access to tools and templates to support you
Where you can go for help.

These free workshops are being provided by Our Community and Moores with support of the Commission for Children and Young People.

Attendees will be provided with free access to Moores not-for-profit Legal Advice Line to January 1, providing uncapped 24/7 access and advice from lawyers that are trained in child protection laws.
